Split-Site Doctoral Scholarships

Award Criteria

Academic excellence

Qualifying Details
Split-Site Scholarships support those undertaking doctoral study at a developing country university, to spend one year at a United Kingdom university as part of their work. The awards were first introduced on a pilot basis in 1998, and approximately eighty have been made since then. Each year we are able to make 30-35 awards. Nominations for awards are only accepted from certain developing country universities or from UK university departments which have an established link with a related department in a developing Commonwealth university. Applicants should be registered for a doctoral degree at their home university. The final qualification obtained will be from the developing country, rather than the UK, institution.
