Qualifying Details
Split-Site Scholarships support those undertaking doctoral study at a developing country university, to spend one year at a United Kingdom university as part of their work. The awards were first introduced on a pilot basis in 1998, and approximately eighty have been made since then. Each year we are able to make 30-35 awards. Nominations for awards are only accepted from certain developing country universities or from UK university departments which have an established link with a related department in a developing Commonwealth university. Applicants should be registered for a doctoral degree at their home university. The final qualification obtained will be from the developing country, rather than the UK, institution. Nominations must be received in London by 31 December of the year preceding tenure.
